Frequently Asked Questions
What are your fees?
My current fee is $350 per 50-minute session. I’m sometimes able to offer a reduced fee to those experiencing financial hardship or who fit certain other criteria. If you definitely need reduced fee therapy and want to discuss it, let’s get in touch!
Do you take insurance?
No. For many, many reasons. BUT… it turns out that most insurance companies provide reimbursement up to a certain percentage (~30-70% depending on your specific plan) for “out-of-network” providers. Upon request, I can provide you with monthly invoices (“superbills”) for you to submit to your insurance company. This is relatively easy and can often dramatically reduce the cost of therapy. Before beginning treatment, please reach out to your insurance provider to ask about whether your specific plan includes “out-of-network” mental health benefits and - if so - how to use them.
How will COVID-19 affect my therapy?
Health + safety measures necessitated moving my practice to online sessions only during early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic. During that time, I held all sessions with new and ongoing patients via phone and / or a HIPAA-compliant video platform; these options will remain available to all new + existing patients for the foreseeable future.
Now that vaccines are readily available, however, I’ve resumed conducting in-person sessions as my primary mode of treatment.
If you are interested in receiving in-person counseling and have questions re: office safety policies and procedures, please set up an appointment for a phone consultation, call + leave me a voicemail, or send me an email at tylervascpsyd@gmail.com.
